TIME FOR SOME "PERSONAL LEAVE"! ~ Monday Morning ☕ Coffee with CHAD GRABHAM
INSPIRATION FOR TODAY:

TIME FOR SOME “PERSONAL LEAVE”!
It’s easy to convince ourselves of the importance of our work. Imagine what could go wrong if we didn’t pay attention to all the details day after day. But what about the details of your life? We spend so much time worrying about “making a living” that we forget about making our lives.
Of course, for many of us, making a successful living translates into enjoying our lives more. Some of us are extremely fortunate to be enjoying our work and putting ourselves whole-heartedly into our career’s endeavors. But we need to remind ourselves to apply that same fervor to our personal pursuits away from the office, the computer, the telephone, the fax machine, the weekly planner.
If you can give up one or two appointments a week, you can take an art class at the community college. Or you can go to your kid’s basketball game. Or surprise your spouse with an unexpected lunch at his or her office or at home. Or read a few chapters of the latest book by your favorite author. The possibilities are endless, but the point is to take some time from “making a living” and instead re-appropriate that time for “making a life.”
Taking time during the day for any of these activities will actually serve to improve the rest of the time that you spend working. Avoid “burning out” by “lighting up” your imagination, your creativity, and your relationships. If you ended up working your tail off last Monday during the holiday, consider using a little “personal leave” during this coming weekend instead! You’ll be glad you did!
